Answer #10

Multi Shaft floor Looms of this type produce a lot of frictionand stress on the Frame joints when in operation. The Frame Bolts should be tightened regularly. In addition, in order to keep this loom working fine you have to make sure that all the Jacks and Treadles are clean.

A drop or so of  Sewing machine oil is necessary on the Jack and Treadle Rods after cleaning.

Every 5 years it is a good habit to disassemble all the Jacks and Treadles to clean and lubricate the Rods and the Rod holes.

It is important to clean the inside of the loom periodically to avoid build up of lint that will eventually plug the Jacks and Treadles.

An application of furniture cleaner and wax will help cut down on accumalationof lint and help the Shaft Frames to slide properly.
